Transportation
An extensive network of federal, state, and local highways connects Montgomery County with its immediate environs, serving as a gateway to Philadelphia, New York, and the entire Northeast, as well as points as far west as Chicago. Philadelphia's recently refurbished international airport, plus air facilities within the county limits, link Montgomery County with the rest of the world.

Getting Here and Getting Around
A network of efficient highways keeps Montgomery County business on the move, and county, state and federal agencies are committed to keeping things moving. Multi-million-dollar improvement projects are currently underway on State Routes 309, 202 and I-76, and will continue until 2001. To avoid unnecessary gridlock, the County's two transportation management associations (TMA's) are involved with area firms in a host of transit initiatives, including corporate ride-sharing programs, shuttle services, and park-and-ride programs. One of the more exciting initiatives involves establishing slip ramps off the heavily trafficked Pennsylvania Turnpike at selected business parks. Cars utilizing these ramps would be equipped with special transmitters, allowing them to be recognized at the exit; tolls for these vehicles would then be collected electronically, shortening the commute for many riders, and cutting down on tollbooth congestion for others.
Montgomery County has adapted itself to the automobile. And continues to do so.
